She was 'so excited, and nervous' for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
As the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show gets underway in Paris, anticipation in the U.S. is at an all-time high and the atmosphere in the French capital is electric. Just prior to the most Swarovski crystal–studded and feather-filled runway show of the year, we had a chance to discuss the process with non-other than Kendall Jenner.
The soon-to-be two-time VS model shared a little behind-the-scenes insight on her prep for the big event (which takes place Nov. 30 and airs Dec. 5). And although she has walked for Victoria’s Secret before—as well as on plenty of other high-profile runways—Jenner still gets pre-show jitters.
This year, it’s the daring nature of some of her looks that has the 21-year-old a bit nervous. “I’m so excited, and nervous,” Jenner told InStyle. “Last year I had two looks that were very covered in certain spots. But this year I have one look that is kind of covered and one that is pretty exposed — so I’m a little nervous about that!”

We have no doubt Jenner will rock the runway (as per usual)—but the model has a couple tricks up her sleeve for insurance. When she’s onstage, she repeats a simple but effective mental mantra: “Look cute.”
As for what to expect from this year’s show: Jenner gushed about a new approach to hair and makeup that better celebrates each model’s individuality. “The cool thing about this show is that they wanted everyone to feel really good and they didn’t mind the girls looking more different than each other than they did in previous years,” she told us. “They didn’t want everyone to look exactly the same. It’s cool, it adds a new twist to it.”
