'I am honored to serve in the role of First Lady’

The White House has unveiled the first official portrait of First Lady Melania Trump, the Office of the First Lady announced Monday.

The portrait, which is now posted alongside Melania Trump’s official biography on the White House website, was taken at the White House. “I am honored to serve in the role of First Lady, and look forward to working on behalf of the American people over the coming years,” Trump said in a statement.

The First Lady, who is reportedly living in New York City until her son Barron finishes the school year, has remained largely out of the spotlight since her husband’s inauguration.

On March 29, however, she gave a keynote speech for the State Department’s Women of Courage award.
