‘I guess everyone is capable of change'

Just days after Evan Rachel Wood revealed she’s a survivor of sexually assault, the Westworld actress called out celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton for calling her a “whore” in the past.

Hilton’s namesake website positively covered Wood’s comments to Rolling Stone about her experiences with sexual assault, writing it “takes a lot of bravery to candidly chat about such different subjects and we couldn’t be prouder of Evan for giving this interview.” On Wednesday morning, Wood tweeted an old screenshot of Hilton’s past coverage, where he referred to her as “Evan Rachel Whore.” “I guess everyone is capable of change,” she tweeted.

In a string of subsequent tweets, Wood said that she forgave Hilton and made a larger point about why it’s important to have compassion for others.

Hilton responded later on Wednesday, apologizing for his past coverage of Wood and others. Hilton, who garnered controversy during the height of his popularity for bullying celebrities and attempting to out public figures, promised to stop bullying on his site in 2010 after a number of LGBT teens committed suicide after being victims of bullying.
