Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart‘s upcoming VH1 show Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party is already one of the fall’s most highly anticipated shows and for good reason — the queen of domesticity and Uncle Snoop are downright hilarious together.

The pair recently sat down with Billboard to divulge their best party-throwing tips, during which Snoop also revealed that he’d like the world to know that Martha’s a “dope lyricist.” Read on for the best way to get your party on like Snoop and Martha below.

On ambience:

“You’ve got to have a great band on call to play all the favorites.” — Snoop Dogg

“I usually play classical music in my kitchen, but now it might morph into something a little bit more hip-hop-y.” — Martha Stewart

“If your cooking hand is strong, everything’s going to get eaten.” — SD

On helping your guests get acquainted:

“I often ask my guests, especially if it’s a diverse group that has just met, to stand up and talk about themselves for one minute.” — MS

“I take my guests to the green room and say ‘Y’all hit this.’ Then everybody’s ready to come out and start talking to each other.” — SD
