“My act will change because I’ll need to learn Spanish,” quipped the award-winning comedian in an interview with the BBC’s Newsnight, “because I will move to Spain or somewhere. It’s beyond my comprehension if Trump won.”
U.S. politics wasn’t the only topic on the table. The wide-ranging interview covered everything from her introversion to sexuality and feminism.
When interviewer Emily Maitlis brought up a tendency that some women have to apologize even when it’s not necessary, Schumer said that she “had to work to stop doing that.”
“I say ‘I’m sorry’ a lot less than I probably should,” she joked.
Schumer also told the Newsnight program that anyone who isn’t a feminist is “an insane person.”
“I think they don’t know what feminism means,” she said. “It just means equality for women. But I think that word has a whole different meaning for different people. So someone will say to me: ‘You’re not a feminist are you?’… Of course I am. Of course I want equal rights for women.”
Schumer, whose memoir The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo has just been published, is currently touring the U.K.
