Marvel Announces New Jessica Jones Comic Series

She's coming out of retirement

Marvel has announced a new series featuring Jessica Jones, who first debuted in Marvel MAX’s Alias series.

Known for her superhuman strength and resistance to injury, Jessica Jones will come out of retirement in the new series. The skilled detective is now a mother, taking care of her daughter with husband Luke Cage, Danielle, according to Marvel.

Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos will create the new comic series, to be released this fall. David Mack will create the comic book cover, IGN reports.

Bendis and Gaydos debuted the character in 2001. Last year, the comic book was adapted into the Netflix series Marvel’s Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter.

The last time Jessica Jones was seen in a comic book was in Spider Man #5 by Bendis and Sara Pichelli, according to IGN.
