How To Uninstall QuickTime From Your Windows PC

Two new security vulnerabilities have been discovered in the software

Computer security experts are advising that Windows users should uninstall QuickTime from their computers immediately.

That’s because Apple will no longer offer support for its QuickTime software on Windows computers. While the software may still function on your Windows device, the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team warns that using it could leave computers open to threats from viruses and other security risks.

Indeed, cybersecurity firm Trend Micro recently announced that it has discovered two new vulnerabilities affecting QuickTime for Windows.

Here’s how to uninstall QuickTime from your Windows computer.

For Windows 10:

  1. Press the Start button.
  2. Select “Settings.”
  3. Choose “System” and then navigate to “Apps and features.”
  4. Find QuickTime in the list of apps, and select “Uninstall.”

For Windows 7:

  1. Press the Start button.
  2. Select “Control Panel.”
  3. Choose “Programs” and then navigate to “Programs and features.”
  4. Find QuickTime in the list of programs, and select “Uninstall.”
