John Hughes meets J.K. Rowling
There’s no doubt that the Harry Potter saga is a story about wizards, Muggles and fantastic beasts, but it’s also a story about high school. Whether Hermione is making Ron Weasley jealous with Quidditch star Viktor Krum or Ginny Weasley is pining after Harry Potter, the beloved series shows that no amount of magic can make being a teenager easy.
While J.K. Rowling did her best to represent the secret lives of the students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, few films capture the high school experience better than John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club. So it was only inevitable that someone mashed up the two into The Hogwarts Club, where a brain (Hermione, natch), a beauty (Ron?), a jock (Harry), a rebel (Draco Malfoy), and a recluse (Luna Lovegood) all come together and change the world …and each other.
The only thing missing is a Simple Minds song playing them off into the sunset.
