Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee announced Monday that he was suspending his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination after a poor showing at the Iowa caucuses.

Huckabee suspended his campaign in a tweet, thanking supporters for their loyalty. Preliminary numbers reported by the Iowa Republican party show Huckabee received less than 2% of votes in Iowa.

In his second bid for the presidential nomination, Huckabee had run himself tired—polling low in Iowa after a long campaign in a state that he won in 2008.

Huckabee is not the only candidate to drop out of the race after a poor performance Monday night in Iowa as Democratic candidate Martin O’Malley also suspended his campaign.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is expected to win amongst Republicans in Iowa with 27.7% of the vote there, ahead of front-runner Donald Trump.
