The U.S. Army will hold a legal hearing for Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl on Jan. 12.
Bergdahl disappeared from his Army outpost in Afghanistan in 2009 and was held by the Taliban for five years. The soldier was arraigned on charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy last month. The Jan. 12 hearing will take place at Fort Bragg, CNN reports.
Bergdahl did not enter a plea or express a preference about trial before a jury or judge alone last month. If found guilty, he could spend up to life in prison on the misbehavior charge, and up to five years for the desertion charge.
