Slammed Paul Ryan for showing "absolutely no budget discipline"

Presidential candidate Donald Trump attacked the Congressional budget deal that would keep the government open in a statement Friday, alleging that House Republicans “threw in the towel” on the agreement and showed “absolutely no budget discipline.”

“If anyone needs more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker Ryan,” Trump said in a statement to ABC News. “The only special interest not being served by our government is the American people.” The House passed a $1.1 trillion dollar spending deal early Friday, after passing a $622 billion tax measure on Thursday, and the Senate quickly approved both.

President Obama, who is expected to sign the legislation, praised the deal as an example of bipartisan cooperation. “I do want to thank Congress for ending the year on a high note,” he said in a news conference Friday.
