New Delhi's Chief Minister leveled the insult after a raid on his offices by India's main investigative agency
India’s top law-enforcement agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation, reportedly raided the offices of New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Tuesday, following which the head of the Indian capital city’s government had some choice words on Twitter for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kejriwal also rubbished CBI’s counterclaim that the raid was targeting his secretary Rajender Kumar on allegations of corruption, as well as Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s statements in Parliament denying the raid.
[time-brightcove not-tgx=”true”]Tuesday’s controversy marks the latest salvo in a steadily escalating conflict between Kejriwal’s New Delhi government and the central government led by Modi, ever since the former won a landslide victory earlier this year in the specially administered capital’s elections. Kejriwal — named one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2014 — and his Aam Aadmi (Common Man) Party have repeatedly demanded greater autonomy, particularly control of the city’s police force currently overseen by Modi’s government.
The Delhi chief minister also took the country’s Railway Ministry to task on Saturday for the demolition of a slum that reportedly resulted in the death of an infant and rendered hundreds homeless.
