Watch a Cat Accidentally Save Christmas in This Heartwarming Ad

Mog was made famous by a popular children's book series

A year after its controversial ad depicting the 1914 Christmas Truce of WWI, Sainsbury’s has chosen to revive a beloved literary character to be the star of its holiday commercial. This year’s offering features Mog the Cat, the feline made famous by Judith Kerr’s popular children’s book series.

The new ad is called “Mog’s Christmas Calamity” and shows the adorable cat accidentally causing a chain of mishaps that leads to the near ruin of her family’s Christmas celebration. Luckily, the family’s neighbors rally around them to repair the damage and save the holiday. The end of the clip features the slogan “Christmas is for sharing” and asks for people to donate to Save The Children‘s campaign to improve children’s literacy.
