North Korea was high on the agenda and Park is seeking more cooperation with the U.S. and Beijing in pressuring Pyongyang to rein in its strange policies and nuclear ambitions.

Obama's best numbers since May 2013

A slim majority of the public approves of President Barack Obama’s job performance, according to a new poll that shows his approval rating at a 30-month high.

According to a new Washington Post–ABC News poll, 51% of the public approves of the Obama Administration while 45% disapprove, the best numbers for the President the poll has registered since May 2013.

The past few months have seen several success for the Obama Administration, including achieving a nuclear deal with Iran and the Supreme Court’s affirmation of the Affordable Care Act. The country has also seen a continuing decline in unemployment and low gas prices.

The latest poll, however, may be an outlier: other recent polls show him with even or underwater approval ratings, and the Real Clear Politics polling average for the month of October shows him with a 45.3-to-50.3 approval-disapproval rating.
