Ta-Nehisi Coates and Hanya Yanagihara remain in the running
The finalists have been announced for the 2015 National Book Awards, and it’s good news for several favorites.
Though Hanya Yanagihara lost out on the Man Booker Prize on Tuesday, she remains a contender in the National Book Awards’ fiction race for A Little Life. In non-fiction, Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Between the World and Me made the cut as well, continuing a winning streak for the author who was named a MacArthur “genius” last month.
Each finalist will receive $1,000, and the winners, who will be announced in a ceremony on Nov. 18, will receive $10,000.
