Inmates Escape Kentucky Jail With Bed Sheets

Both were back in custody just a few hours later

Two inmates at a minimum security jail in Kentucky escaped the building by tying a series of bed sheets together and using the makeshift ladder to climb four stories down to the ground.

Christopher Cornelius, 37, and Matthew William Johnson, 29, were both being held for alleged heroin possession, reports NBC News.

The two inmates were on an evening work detail Monday when they escaped. They were both apprehended as of early Tuesday. The older man, Cornelius, is reported to have suffered minor injuries and is being “evaluated by medical staff,” according to a statement from the facility.
