J.K. Rowling Weighs in on Harry Potter Cat Fight

Of course Hermione's cat comes out on top

If Hermione’s cat Crookshanks were to get in a fight with Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch’s cat, Mrs. Norris, the former would win, J.K. Rowling said Wednesday on social media.

Crookshanks is half-Kneazle, which is a mythical creature that looks like a cat. Fans might soon know more about Kneazles when Rowling’s screenplay for the Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits the big screen in November of 2016. Fantastic Beasts is based on a Hogwarts textbook “written” by one Newton Scamander, a magizoologist. Scamander supposedly had a fondness for the catlike Kneazle.

Rowling apparently agrees that Crookshanks would come out on top, but the real question is: Why would they be fighting in the first place? Maybe Hermione made one too many visits to the library’s restricted section.
