The "Good For You" singer teams up with Charli XCX

Every pop star says their new album is their most personal yet, but between posing nude for the album cover and showing off the deeper side of her voice, Selena Gomez seems to really mean it with her forthcoming record Revival, due Oct. 9. On her finger-snapping new single “Same Old Love,” the follow-up to this summer’s sexy slow-burner “Good for You,” Gomez delivers a feisty breakup anthem that borrows some shouty energy from co-writer and “I Love It” hitmaker Charli XCX. (And either Charli contributes some backing vocals here, or Gomez has a serious knack for impressions.) “Same old” pop song this is not.
