Apple announced Wednesday that iOS 9 will be available starting Sept. 16.

The latest operating system for the iPhone and the iPad will boast a number of new features, including a multi-tasking mode, a revamped News app and a smarter Siri digital assistant.

iOS 9 will be the default operating system on the upcoming iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPad Pro. It will also be compatible with all the same devices that worked with iOS 8, which includes all iPhones going back to the iPhone 4s, all iPads going back to the iPad 2, all iPad Minis and the iPod Touch fifth-generation. It’s said to be optimized to run well on older devices.

Users will be able to download the new iOS by going to the “Settings” menu on their device, then clicking “General” and “Software Update.”
