Milk in spring water and metal in pork sausage this week
In our food supply, safety sometimes slips through the cracks. Since not every recall reported to authorities makes headlines, we’ve rounded them up for you. If you purchased a product that’s been recalled, you can often return it from where you bought it for a refund.
Corn
Brands: Wylwood, Market Basket, Bountiful, and West Creek
Contaminated with: Listeria monocytogenes
Bonduelle USA Inc. announced it is recalling 9,335 cases of frozen corn due to possible contamination with listeria monocytogenes. Testing done by the State of Tennessee made the discovery. The corn was distributed to 14 different U.S. states. Read more about that here.
Spring water
Brand: Hill Country Fare
Contaminated with: Undeclared milk
The grocery company H-E-B has recalled its Hill Country Fare One Gallon Spring Water due to the possible presence of milk. The problem was discovered during a product review, and the affected product has a “best by” date of Dec. 19, 2015. The recall is for stores in Houston, Central Texas and the Gulf Coast. Undeclared milk in a product like water can be a problem for people who have milk sensitivities. Read the full report here.
Pork sausage
Brand: Johnsonville Grillers
Contaminated with: Extraneous materials
Kenosha Beef International LTD is recalling around 89,235 pounds of pork sausage patty products due to the presence of “extraneous materials.” The issue was brought to attention when consumers complained that there were small pieces of metal in the food. It is unclear how these pieces of metal got into the food supply. Read the full report here.

Contaminated with: Salmonella
Sincerely Nuts Inc. in Brooklyn, New York, is recalling packages of Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole and Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces which were distributed nationwide. No illnesses have been reported at this time. Read the full report here.

Contaminated with: Undeclared sulfites
