Boyhood won the Best Picture and Best Director nods at the BAFTA Awards on Sunday, in the last major awards show before the Oscars.
The Grand Budapest Hotel led in total awards with five BAFTAs, though in less prestigious categories. Boyhood, directed by Richard Linklater, tied The Theory of Everything with three awards each.

All four films are considered Oscar contenders for the Best Picture Oscar, to be announced at the Academy Awards later this month, but Boyhood is widely considered the favorite. The film, which follows the same actors over a 12-year period, has taken home the top prize at a number of awards shows, including the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards.
