What do you get when you cross Halo and an RPG? Destiny.

Halo creator Bungie doesn’t work on the franchise that became the fledgling Xbox’s killer app any more — instead, they’re building their own legend.

For Bungie’s next big multi-platform game, Destiny, it’s stepping away from Master Chief and letting players build their character from the bottom up. Combining the elements from first person shooters, RPGs and action adventures, Destiny puts the player in the shoes of a guardian, protecting the last safe city on earth.

The frenetic firefights made famous in Halo remain, but whether you decide to snipe, run and gun, or melee attack to finish your opponents depends on how gamers develop their character. The destiny of characters, and the human race, depends on the player.
