Watch the Chicago River Turn Green for St. Patrick’s Day

The river greening tradition dates back 52 years

For the last 52 years, Chicago has kicked off its St. Patrick’s Day celebrations by dying the Chicago River a bright green. The ceremonial greening of the river took place Saturday morning at 9:30, and YouTuber Peter Tsai posted this awesome 30-second time-lapse video showing the process from start to finish.
